The attack occurred when a car deliberately plowed into pedestrians at a bus stop, leaving multiple people severely hurt. Initial reports indicated that the assailant was an Israeli Arab, but it was later clarified that he was a Palestinian Arab, 53-year-old Jamil Zuweid, who had been living in Israel illegally for several years. Zuweid was originally from Silat al-Harithiya in the Jenin area and had been residing in Israel while married to an Israeli citizen from Umm al-Fahm. His children are also Israeli citizens.

The attack unfolded when Zuweid rammed his car into pedestrians waiting at the bus station, injuring eight people. One victim remains in critical condition, two others are severely injured, and three are moderately injured, with three more suffering minor injuries. The victims were swiftly taken to Hillel Yafe Medical Center in Hadera for treatment. Paramedics on the scene described the incident as chaotic, with many injured people lying on the ground when emergency responders arrived.

MDA paramedic Avi Cohen described the scene as a "complex situation" following the car hitting multiple pedestrians. He recounted that the injured individuals were near the bus station when the vehicle struck them, causing widespread panic. Medical teams immediately began providing life-saving care, including stopping bleeding and administering first aid. The victims were quickly evacuated to the hospital for further treatment.

Zuweid’s attack did not end with the ramming. After hitting the pedestrians, he continued driving a few meters before colliding with a police car. Officers soon neutralized the assailant, arresting him after he exited the vehicle wielding a screwdriver. Police confirmed that the terrorist carried out the ramming and subsequent stabbing before being apprehended.

Police Spokesman Asi Aharoni confirmed that the individual arrested was the assailant, adding that he had rammed pedestrians at a bus stop before stabbing some of the victims and eventually crashing into a police vehicle. Authorities later clarified that Zuweid, a Palestinian from northern Samaria, had been driving a vehicle registered to an Israeli Arab.

The attack left the community in shock, and local law enforcement is continuing its investigation into the details of the event, as well as the motivations behind it. The quick response from medical and police personnel helped prevent further casualties, but the terrifying nature of the assault has left the community deeply affected.
