The IDF and Shin Bet attacked and eliminated the terrorist Rashid Jahjouh, head of Hamas' General Security Apparatus. Jahjouh had succeeded Sami Oudeh in the role, who was eliminated by the IDF in July 2024 alongside Ruhi Mushtaha, the head of Hamas’s governance in the Gaza Strip.
In addition, Ayman Aslih, head of the Khan Younis sector within Hamas’s General Security, was also eliminated.
The General Security Apparatus (Batakhal), led by Jahjouh, is a secretive and central organ within Hamas. Among other responsibilities, the apparatus is tasked with identifying “collaborators,” securing senior Hamas officials and the organization’s assets both inside and outside the Gaza Strip, and suppressing opponents of Hamas’s terrorist rule. It also provides intelligence that assists senior Hamas leaders in decision-making and executing terror plans against the State of Israel. Jahjouh was also responsible for propaganda disseminated by Hamas among the Gaza public to bolster the organization’s legitimacy.
