Three years after the October 7 massacre, the organisation that ran the Gaza flotilla in which Greta Thunberg took part has set its sights on a new target: Judea and Samaria.
According to Israel's Diaspora Ministry, the "Global Sumud Flotilla" is currently recruiting foreign activists ahead of the coming olive harvest, with the application deadline set for October 7.
Participants are expected to remain in the area for at least two weeks and undergo training in "direct action", alongside political and media preparation. They are also required to commit to continuing political activity after returning to their home countries.
The move is part of a broader set of campaigns recruiting international activists ahead of the harvest season, including organisations that present their work as a "protective presence" alongside Palestinians. The Diaspora Ministry says the effort is an attempt to build an international network of activists.
Avi Cohen Scali, director-general of the Diaspora Ministry, said Israel "will not serve as a playground for foreign anarchists", and made clear that the state will act against anyone arriving as part of an organised framework whose purpose, he said, is to create provocations and disrupt public order.
