Police and Border Guard forces arrested a resident of Al-Eizariya in his 20s on Sunday after he was found masked and carrying a knife and a glass jar packed with nails and paper, which investigators believe he intended to ignite and throw. The suspect had told contacts he planned to carry out an attack in the immediate term.
According to the Israel Police statement, officers from the Ma'ale Adumim station in the Gilad district and Border Guard fighters from the Jerusalem envelope moved to arrest the suspect after receiving an intelligence report that he had expressed intent to carry out an attack imminently. Forces set up roadblocks in the area and launched rapid searches and operations to locate and detain him.
The suspect was arrested in the village of Al-Eizariya, and a search of his vehicle turned up a knife and a glass jar containing nails and paper, which investigators believe he intended to throw and ignite. He was transferred for questioning at the Ma'ale Adumim police station and was remanded in custody at the end of the interrogation.
