A Gaza resident told Moshe Arye he hopes Gadi Eisenkot's victory in Israel's election will bring relief from restrictions on the Strip
An resident of the Gaza Strip weighed in on Israel's election on Monday, telling Moshe Arye that he hopes a victory by Gadi Eisenkot and his list will bring relief from the restrictions imposed on Gaza residents.
During the conversation, which was conducted in Arabic, Arye raised the possibility that Eisenkot could enter the Israeli government, and asked whether that might lead to the return of Gazan workers to jobs in Israel.
In response, the resident laid out the difference he sees between a victory by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a victory by Eisenkot and his list.
"If Netanyahu wins, the situation will stay as it is, but if Eisenkot and his list win, maybe they'll ease the restrictions on us a bit," the resident replied.
