Shada: If Eisenkot was Palestine, why appoint?

Media figure attacks mutual disqualifications ahead of Tuesday's vote, calls on leaders to prevent another election round: If there's no 61, you'll have to sit together

One day before polls open in the Knesset elections, media figure Eliraz Sade posted on social media calling on party leaders and the public to act responsibly and prevent another election round.

"Netanyahu was an excellent prime minister relative to Israeli reality, otherwise he wouldn't have been elected again and again," Sade wrote at the opening of his remarks. "Every voter at the ballot box knows there's no perfect, and he deserves all the credit."

He then addressed the heated political discourse and mutual attacks between the camps: "Reality has changed, and that same Netanyahu appointed Eisenkot as chief of staff. And if that same Eisenkot was a 'dangerous Palestine', why did you appoint him?"

He emphasized the importance of preventing another election round and warned of the consequences of political deadlock: "In short, if there's no 61 here, you'll have to sit together because another election round is forbidden, that's the most dangerous thing! We saw what happened to us last time."

He closed his remarks with a direct appeal to all players in the political system: "Respect one another, you might have to sit together."
