Herzliya beach closed after water tests

Ministry issues bathing warning for Kokhavim Beach following abnormal microbiological results; alert remains in effect until further notice

The Health Ministry issued a bathing warning Monday for Kokhavim Beach in Herzliya after abnormal microbiological results were found in water-quality tests. The warning remains in effect until further notice, the ministry said.

The official bathing season ended two weeks ago on October 10, and lifeguard services now operate some beaches across the country. The Health Ministry said it "wishes to remind the public that bathing is permitted only at declared beaches."

This is the second bathing warning issued in the past month due to water contamination. On October 5, the ministry warned against swimming at three Kinneret beaches, Tzemach, Tsinbari and Gofra, after abnormal microbiological results. That alert remained in force for about 24 hours before being lifted following normal test results.
