Immediately after the final results came in, Derai had written: "My brothers and sisters are reaching out to me and demanding that I ask forgiveness and do soul-searching. So here it is: I'm sorry we wanted to bring a different discourse to Israeli politics, a discourse that sees the nation as a whole and not as 'blocs.' I'm sorry we wanted to bring new forces full of hope. I'm sorry we simply wanted to serve our beloved nation."
She went on to detail sarcastically the party's principles and the platform it presented to voters: "I'm sorry we didn't make peace with a reality of autonomies that threaten sovereignty in our state. I'm sorry we promoted a discourse of brotherhood instead of a discourse of boycotts, that we knew how to distinguish between an enemy, whom we must defeat, and a political rival. I'm sorry we tried to 'move the cheese' and disturbed everyone from continuing in exactly the same way and expecting something different."
"I'm sorry we danced yesterday, after the blow, because we believe that despite everything, the eternity of Israel will not lie," she added. "I'm sorry we tried to chart a different path (what were we thinking?), I'm sorry we fought for our soldiers and their families. I'm sorry we wanted to be good and thereby bring about something even better. I'm sorry we believed this nation deserves different politics. I'm sorry."
