Death threats against Eisenkot's wife

Eisenkot's Yashar party files police complaint after Yossi Cohen threatened Chana Eisenkot with murder, saying you'll be with your son, and told the former general you murdered your son

Gadi Eisenkot

The Yashar party, led by Gadi Eisenkot, filed a police complaint Monday against Yossi Cohen, who confronted the party chairman outside his home and told him "you murdered your son," then threatened his wife Chana with murder, saying "you won't live, you'll be with your son."

The party said in a statement that it shares in Cohen's grief over his loss and respects his pain. However, no pain, however severe, gives a person permission to threaten murder, incite violence, or use another family's bereavement as a weapon to harm them.

The statement described the incident as an unfathomable moral low, a crossing of every red line, and a horrifying expression of incitement, hatred and violence. It called the episode the destructive result of the political culture under Netanyahu, in which hatred and division have become a method of governance and red lines have been erased in the name of political survival.

The party said it demands that Israel Police act decisively, investigate the threats, and bring the perpetrator to justice to the fullest extent of the law.
