The Samaria Regional Council has received budget approval for permanent daycare buildings, large, upgraded modular structures, in the communities of Ganim and Kadim in northern Samaria. The funding comes from the Ministry for the Development of the Negev, the Galilee and National Resilience, headed by Minister Yitzchak Wasserlauf.
This is the first government budget for daycare facilities in the renewed communities, and it arrives in the year that the return to northern Samaria became a reality. Thirty families moved into Ganim, where a yeshiva gedolah has also opened, and thirty families moved into Kadim.
With the return to Kadim, all four communities expelled in 2004, Homesh, Sa-Nur, Ganim and Kadim, are now resettled. Seven additional new communities have been established as part of the "Connection Plan" to build 19 communities in northern Samaria, led by the regional council, Amana and the government, on the way to the council's "Million in Samaria" plan.
Kindergartens opened in the communities at the start of the school year. As young families put down roots, the need for early-childhood frameworks has grown. The daycare buildings—large, spacious, upgraded modular structures—are meant to meet that need and allow more families to join. The council secured the budget after several months of joint work with its engineering, education and security departments and with the community committees.
