Peace pitch. Pressure. Syria responds.
Inside Trump’s 5 Demands to Syria’s al-Julani
Trump pushes peace plan in Syria, urging ties with Israel, anti-terror crackdowns, and full control over ISIS detainees.

This morning, Trump met with Syrian President al-Sharaa and urged him to act decisively to advance regional stability and reform.
At the top of Trump’s agenda were five critical demands:
1. Syria must join the Abraham Accords with Israel
2. All foreign terrorist groups to be expelled from Syrian territory
3. Palestinian terrorist factions to be removed
4. Syria must assist the United States in preventing a resurgence of ISIS
5. The Syrian government must assume full responsibility for managing ISIS detention centers in the country’s northeast.

In response, President al-Sharaa expressed his gratitude to President Trump, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for their role in facilitating the high-stakes meeting.
He acknowledged the strategic opportunity created by Iran’s withdrawal from Syria and emphasized the alignment of Syrian and American interests in combating terrorism and eliminating chemical weapons.
Trump also discussed the Israel - Gaza War: “We’re trying to reach peace in Gaza—but that can’t happen if the leaders there are murdering innocent people.”
On Iran, he said, “They must stop supporting terror and must not possess nuclear weapons.”
