Levin Responds to Likud Primary Results

Deputy Prime Minister pledges to continue judicial reform efforts after placing third in party's internal elections

Justice Minister Yariv Levin Responds to Third-Place Finish in Likud Primary

Israel's Justice Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Yariv Levin issued his first public statement following his third-place finish in Likud's internal primary elections.

In his statement, Levin expressed gratitude to Likud members who voted for him. "I thank each and every member of the Likud movement who placed their trust in me," he said after results were announced. "This is an expression of confidence not only in me personally, but first and foremost in the path I am leading. A vast public demands the completion of the judicial reform. A vast public demands justice, and I will continue to act without fear to make it so."

The minister also acknowledged colleagues who did not secure spots on the party's list for the next Knesset: "I also want to thank the ministers and outgoing Knesset members who were not elected this time. Their contribution to the state and to the movement will always stand to their credit."

He concluded his statement with a call for party unity ahead of the general election campaign: "We all now bear the responsibility to unite and ensure together the victory of Likud and the national camp in the elections. We will do it together, and we will succeed! Thank you very much."

The Likud primary determines the order of candidates on the party's electoral list for Israel's parliament, the Knesset. Levin's judicial reform initiative has been one of the most contentious political issues in Israel over the past two years, drawing both strong support and fierce opposition.
