Bosch Pushes Humanoid Robots Toward Mass Production

British robotics startup Humanoid is moving closer to mass production of human-like industrial robots through a new strategic partnership with Bosch and Schaeffler.
Under the agreement, Bosch will serve as a key manufacturing partner for Humanoid’s HMND 01 robot, while Schaeffler will provide critical actuation components.
The deal follows a successful proof-of-concept trial carried out in March 2026 at a Bosch logistics facility in Bühl, Germany. During the trial, Humanoid’s robots moved boxes from conveyors to carts in a dynamic warehouse environment, handling different sizes, weights and heights.
The robots were operated using Humanoid’s KinetIQ AI platform, which enabled coordination, adaptation and precise movement during the test.
According to the company, the trial showed not only that the technology works, but that it has clear potential for industrial scaling.
The new agreement focuses on moving from research and development to large-scale production, using Bosch’s “Design for Excellence” approach, which includes optimizing product design, supply chains and manufacturing costs.
“This is a critical phase for us, moving from proof of capability to broad deployment,” said Humanoid founder and CEO Artem Sokolov. “The partnership with Bosch allows us to accelerate the introduction of humanoid robots into real industrial environments.”
Bosch said it sees the move as part of a broader shift toward advanced automation in industry. Peter Schweikowski, the company’s head of intellectual property, said the potential for robotics in industrial settings is “enormous,” adding that Bosch’s global infrastructure and manufacturing experience position it to help move such systems from experimental deployments to large-scale production.
The partnership is also expected to include Bosch technologies, including sensors, drive systems and actuators, in future generations of the robot platform.
Schaeffler has also been expanding its role in humanoid robotics, recently signing similar partnerships with companies including Neura Robotics and Hexagon Robotics.
Humanoid was founded in 2024 and now employs more than 200 engineers in London, Boston and Vancouver. The company aims to become a leading player in industrial humanoid robotics within the next two years.
