Tehran’s Sick Display: Top U.S. Generals Targeted in Mock Funeral Rallies
Iranian state media showcases mock coffins of top U.S. military leaders, including Admiral Brad Cooper and General Randy George, during 47th-anniversary rallies of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran.

Iranian state media and organizers displayed symbolic mock coffins draped in U.S. flags, featuring images and names of senior American military leaders, during official rallies marking the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The displays, shown in central Tehran near Tehran University, included coffins with the name and photo of Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). Also featured was U.S. Army Chief of Staff General Randy George.
Regime supporters, many of them bused-in participants and security force families, were seen posing for photos beside the mock coffins.Iranian media, including Mehr News Agency, published images of the scene as part of the annual 22 Bahman celebrations.
These symbolic displays, which include effigies, flag burnings, and mock funerals, are a regular feature of the Islamic Republic’s Revolution Day events, used to express defiance toward the United States and Israel.
The rallies took place amid heightened regional tensions, ongoing domestic protests in Iran, and recent indirect nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran in Oman, in which Cooper participated.
