Trump’s Conciliatory Message
Khamenei Lashes Out at Trump: "The U.S. President Is to Blame for the Casualties; His Goal Is to Swallow Iran"
Hours after the U.S. President thanked Tehran for canceling a wave of executions, Iran’s Supreme Leader chose to escalate tensions • In a fierce speech, Khamenei accused Trump of fueling the riots and promising military aid to protesters: "This was a transparent American plot."

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, delivered a particularly aggressive speech today (Saturday), placing direct responsibility for the recent riots in his country on U.S. President Donald Trump. The remarks came, paradoxically, following a public gesture by the American president toward the Iranian regime.
Over the weekend, Trump chose to thank the Iranian leadership on his social media platform, TRUTH Social, after they canceled a long list of scheduled executions. "I greatly respect the fact that all of the executions scheduled for yesterday (over 800) were cancelled by the leadership of Iran. Thank you!" Trump wrote, continuing his refrain from direct military strikes on Iran for the time being.
However, Tehran refused to accept the olive branch. In response, Khamenei launched a harsh attack, claiming the American president’s hands are stained with the blood of those killed in the recent protests.
**"A Transparent American Plot"**
"We view the U.S. President as the guilty party regarding the casualties, the damages, and the slander against the Iranian people," Khamenei declared. "This was an American plot; it was obvious. The Americans planned, acted, and invested in this." According to him, Washington’s strategic goal is singular: "To swallow Iran."
Khamenei went on to claim that the U.S. cannot accept Iran’s existence as a regional power: "A country with such characteristics, such a sensitive geographic location, and with scientific and technological progress in various fields, is intolerable to the Americans."
The Iranian leader emphasized that unlike in the past, this time he identified personal and direct involvement by the American president in inflaming tensions. "The uniqueness of this plot was that the U.S. President himself entered into it personally," Khamenei stated. "He spoke, expressed positions, threatened, encouraged the instigators of the plot, and conveyed messages of continued action and support to them, including promises of military backing. Meaning, the U.S. President himself was part of the plot."
