The American Wall Street Journal reported that American intelligence agencies fear that Russian Wagner forces may deliver aerial defense systems to the Lebanese terror group.

According the report, a number of American intelligence agencies have received reports pointing to the Russian mercenary group, which generally operates at the direction of Putin and the Russian Army, may provide a Russian-made aerial defense system to help fight Israel.

According to the American reports, the system in question is the SA-22 “Panstir,” a mobile missile and cannon-based anti-aircraft defense system. According to publicized information, the system is not effective against drones, helicopters, and cruise missiles.

According to sources in the American government, there is no confirmation of this system being sent at this time, but they did state that they are tracking worrying contacts between Wagner and Hezbollah forces since the beginning of the war, and stated that that the delivery of such equipment is a significant source of worry in the American government.
