‘We’re Focused on Bringing Hostages Home’ — Trump’s Push to Secure Freedom

Trump committed to bringing hostages home, says US Vice President JD Vance

At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C., US Vice President JD Vance assured the families of hostages held by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza that President Donald Trump is fully committed to bringing their loved ones back home.

Vance emphasized that Trump is working tirelessly behind the scenes to secure the release of the hostages.

“Our message to the hostages is that President Trump loves you, he hasn’t forgotten your loved ones, and he’s going to fight every single day to bring them home. That is exactly what he has been doing, and that’s what he’ll keep on doing,” Vance stated, speaking in front of several relatives of the hostages who were present at the conference.

Vance further explained that President Trump’s leadership is a crucial factor in the ongoing efforts to bring the hostages home. “It’s just a question of leadership,” he said. “You need a president who is able to pick up the phone and say: ‘You’ve got to bring these people home. No, no no no. We’re not focused on that crap right now. We’re focused on bringing hostages home.’” He continued, emphasizing that when negotiations reach an impasse, a leader like Trump steps in and ensures progress. “And then, when negotiations hit a wall because they always do, you need a president who gets on the phone and says: ‘Cut this crap out. You’ve got to make progress. You’ve got to keep that pace going.’ It’s leadership. I saw it behind the scenes,” Vance added.

Vance also acknowledged the efforts of Trump’s close ally, Steve Witkoff, who was empowered by the president to serve as an emissary in these negotiations. “What the president did was empower… his dear friend Steve Witkoff as an emissary of the United States. He said: ‘Steve, you speak for me. Get it done. And if there are problems, call me.’”

Witkoff, with President Trump’s leadership, played a key role in advancing the mission, Vance explained. However, Vance recognized that while progress has been made, there is still much work to be done. “We’ve still got work to do. We’ve got to finish the process. The president is committed to this more than any leader in my lifetime. We’re going to keep on fighting for it,” Vance concluded, reaffirming the administration's determination to bring all the hostages home.
