Qatar on Strait of Hormuz Crisis: "Iran Crosses all the Red Lines"
The Foreign Ministry urges Gulf nations to support mediation efforts while France and Britain move to form an international maritime defense task force.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari warned today that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has reached a critical tipping point. Calling for a stable resolution, Al-Ansari urged Persian Gulf nations to join Pakistan’s ongoing mediation efforts between Iran and the United States. He noted that Iran has crossed all red lines from the start of the conflict through the current ceasefire.
European Leadership Responds to Tension
In response to the escalating tension and the blockade imposed by President Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron announced an emergency virtual summit. Macron will hold a Zoom conference this coming Friday with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The two leaders intend to call on the international community to contribute to a multilateral defense mission. The goal of the mission is to restore freedom of movement in the Strait of Hormuz as soon as security conditions permit.
Maritime Blockade Challenged
Amidst the diplomatic maneuvering, a Chinese tanker departing from the United Arab Emirates successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz this morning. This marks the first time a vessel has navigated the disputed maritime route since the start of the American blockade in the region.
The successful passage represents a significant development in the ongoing struggle for control over the strategic waterway, which remains a primary focal point of global energy security.
