US President Donald Trump warned Iran overnight that the United States was “locked and loaded and ready to go” if Iranian authorities continue killing protesters, issuing the threat in a post published early Friday morning.
Trump’s statement came as protests inside Iran entered a sixth consecutive day, with mounting reports of lethal force used against demonstrators. While the White House did not immediately clarify what specific actions Trump was referring to, the language marked one of his most explicit public warnings to Tehran since unrest escalated earlier this week.
At the same time, Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last shah, urged Iranians to persist. In a message posted on X, Pahlavi framed the demonstrations as a historic turning point, calling on protesters to remain united and focused. “You are making history,” he wrote, describing the movement as a collective effort to reclaim the country through courage and solidarity.
Developments on the ground suggest the crackdown is intensifying. Iranian authorities confirmed multiple deaths on Thursday, including two people killed in the city of Lordegan after security forces opened fire on crowds. The Hengaw human rights organization reported that another protester, Dariush Ansari Bakhtiariwand, was shot and killed with live ammunition during demonstrations in Isfahan province on Wednesday night.
