Footage circulated on social media and Iranian state media shows a display of hostility toward Israeli and American leaders in the heart of Tehran: during a mass rally held in Enqelab Square, demonstrators set fire to a giant poster bearing the images of US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Vice President J.D. Vance, and US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff.
The rally was held to mark the anniversary of the takeover of the US embassy in Tehran in 1979. A day earlier, organizers of the event distributed a propaganda poster that included an explicit threat against the American president's life, bearing the slogan "We will kill Trump" in both Persian and English.
The poster burned during the rally depicted the four figures wearing torn and burning suits, with Israeli and American flags going up in flames in the background.
The incident joins a growing series of threats the Iranian regime has been spreading in recent months against Trump and his family members. In July, the Iranian news agency Tasnim, which is close to the Revolutionary Guards, published a video claiming to have identified vulnerabilities and access routes in the security arrangements for First Lady Melania Trump in New York.
