President Donald Trump asserted in an interview with CNBC that American strikes have irrevocably ended Iran's nuclear ambitions, emphasizing that the regime will not be allowed to develop weapons under his watch. He described the attacks as a decisive blow that prevented Tehran from acquiring nuclear arms imminently, while expressing cautious hope that no additional military steps will be required amid reports of ongoing regime violence against protesters.

Trump highlighted the impact of the operations. "This is a tough place. We hit them very hard on anything to do with nuclear. We put an end to nuclear. If we hadn't acted, they would have had nuclear weapons a long time ago. In fact, they would have reached nuclear weapons probably within a month," he said. He praised the execution using B2 bombers. "They were amazing, completely undetectable. They came in total darkness, no moonlight, and every one of those bombs hit exactly its target and devastated the facilities."

He addressed the broader context of Iran's internal unrest. "We hope there won't be any further military action. But you know, they are shooting people indiscriminately in the streets," Trump noted, referring to regime forces' response to protests. He reiterated a firm stance against nuclear development. "Now we'll find out what they plan to do next, but one thing is clear: they can't do nuclear. That's the thing I was strongest on, they can't do nuclear. We can't allow them nuclear weapons. If they try, it will be answered again with action."

The interview comes amid reports from the Wall Street Journal that Trump continues pressing Pentagon leaders and White House advisors for a "decisive" military plan against Iran. Sources indicate he repeatedly uses the word "decisive" in closed discussions, leading teams to develop ambitious options ranging from targeted strikes on Revolutionary Guards infrastructure to broader efforts aimed at regime change.

Trump's comments underscore ongoing US assessments of Iran's capabilities post-strikes, with officials believing the attacks severely degraded key sites. However, independent experts debate the full extent of damage, noting Iran's history of underground facilities and resilience. The president's warnings align with broader policy to prevent nuclear proliferation, building on past actions like the killing of Qasem Soleimani during his first term. As tensions persist, with Iran's death toll from protests estimated at 3,117 including security forces, Trump's administration monitors for any signs of nuclear revival or escalation in suppression tactics.
