BREAKING: US Senator Warns 'Imminent' Military Strike on Iran "Very Much on the Table"
Amid record oil prices and stalled talks, Senator Richard Blumenthal warns of an "imminent" U.S. military strike on Iran, citing classified briefings.

Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, stated Thursday that a new U.S. military strike against Iran appears imminent, citing classified briefings and other sources.
Speaking on CNN with Erin Burnett yesterday, Blumenthal expressed deep concern:
“I do have the impression, from some of the briefings that I have received, as well as other sources, that an imminent military strike is very much on the table… which is deeply disturbing because it could well involve American sons and daughters in harm’s way and potential massive casualties.”
The Connecticut Democrat framed the possibility as alarming, warning of risks to U.S. troops amid the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict that began in late February 2026.
Blumenthal, a frequent critic of the administration’s Iran strategy, has repeatedly raised alarms about potential U.S. ground involvement (“boots on the ground”) and lack of clear objectives or congressional authorization.
This latest warning comes as backchannel negotiations continue and Israel is reportedly preparing for possible further action.
