MN Gov. Tim Walz Responds to Latest Fraud Allegations

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and his administration moved aggressively today to counter mounting criticism over alleged large-scale fraud in state-funded social service programs, following the viral spread of an investigative video that has triggered renewed political and federal scrutiny.

In a statement issued after the video gained widespread attention, a spokesperson for the governor rejected claims that the administration had ignored warning signs or failed to act, emphasizing steps Walz has taken over several years to strengthen oversight and combat fraud.

“The governor has worked for years to crack down on fraud and has repeatedly asked the state legislature for more authority to take aggressive action,” the spokesperson said in remarks to Fox News. “He has strengthened oversight, including launching investigations into these specific facilities, one of which was already closed.”

The statement outlined a series of actions the administration says were taken well before the most recent allegations surfaced publicly.
