A witness at the wedding, Sophie Flabouris, has declared that she and other guests were on the dance floor when the gunshots started. In what she described as a "fight or flight" moment, she immediately hid under a table as people ran in all directions, screaming.
Another witness, Tom Bartelson, reported hearing about six shots. Initially, he thought the noise was just balloons popping, but he quickly realized it was gunfire. Bartelson stated that the gunman appeared to be targeting a specific individual. He also recalled the suspect making two distinct statements: "the children are safe" and "free Palestine."
