The political-security cabinet convened last night (Thursday), for a discussion that also dealt with the war in Gaza. During the meeting, Minister Miri Regev attacked the Chief of Staff: "They are holding up in Gaza." Justice Minister Yariv Levin joined in and criticized Zamir: "You said unacceptable things."

Regev attacked Zamir, "We can't continue like this,". The Chief of Staff responded to Regev: "I don't agree with you. Thousands of fighters are currently fighting in the Strip."

Justice Minister Levin joined the criticism and referred to the IDF's position regarding the distribution of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. "You should know that what you said last time (that IDF soldiers will not distribute humanitarian aid) is unacceptable," Levin scolded. "You can recommend and oppose, but you do not decide for us."

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Smotrich's boycott of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar has ended. Bar raised several issues during the discussion - and there was no response or protest from the minister, not even "going to the bathroom or drinking coffee".

On Tuesday, a confrontation took place once more at the cabinet meeting between the ministers and the Chief of Staff. Defense Minister Israel Katz announced at the meeting that no more aid would enter the Strip in the same format. "This strengthens Hamas. The aid will be distributed by IDF soldiers or American companies," he said. Chief of Staff Zamir had previously emphasized that "IDF soldiers will not distribute humanitarian aid, and we will not starve the Strip".

Finance Minister Smotrich attacked: "With all due respect, the army does not choose its missions. We have defined for you that you need to prepare for it. We will define the goal, and you define how to complete it. If you are not capable, we will bring someone who is capable. If you do not know - we will find someone who knows."
