Earlier today, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a formal ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran during midday hours (U.S. time).

The deal received official approval from both the Israeli Security Cabinet and Iran’s Foreign Minister. However, at 5:18 PM Israel time—just an hour and a half before the ceasefire was set to take effect, missiles were launched from Iran toward Israeli territory, reportedly aimed at the southern region.

This raises serious questions about Iran’s commitment to the agreement and casts doubt on the feasibility of any de-escalation deal between the two sides, even with U.S. mediation.

UPDATE – 05:34 AM Israel Time: More missiles have been launched from Iran toward Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

UPDATE - 05:47 AM Israel Time: As of now, there are reports of two direct hits — one in the central region and one in Be’er Sheva where a 7-story residential building has been hit and Three people killed.

UPDATE – 06:13 AM Israel Time: A third missile barrage has been launched from Iran toward Israel.

UPDATE - 06:33 - 06:42 AM Israel Time: A fourth and fifth missle barrage has been launched from Iran.
