U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday night that the ceasefire in Gaza remains in effect, despite reports of renewed rocket fire from Rafah. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, the President confirmed, “Yes, it’s in effect.”

“We want to make sure that it's very peacful with Hamas,” Trump continued. “As you know, they’ve been quite rambunctious, they have been doing some shooting.” He acknowledged that shots had been fired from Rafah but suggested that the incident might not have been ordered by Hamas leadership.

“We think maybe the leadership wasn’t involved. You know, maybe rebels within. It will be handled properly.”

Earlier in the evening, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance commented on the Gaza situation, saying there is currently “no security infrastructure in place to ensure the disarmament of Hamas.” Vance is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Tuesday for meetings with senior officials as part of ongoing U.S. efforts to stabilize the ceasefire.

In Jerusalem, Israeli officials announced late Sunday that the country would resume humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip after a temporary suspension. The pause had been imposed following a ceasefire violation when Hamas opened fire on Israeli forces near Rafah.

A senior Israeli political source confirmed that truck convoys carrying humanitarian supplies would soon move again, saying, “Because of the heavy airstrikes and dozens of Hamas casualties, Israel halted truck movements today. They will resume once the strikes conclude.”

The same source added that the Rafah crossing will reopen only once Israel confirms stability on the ground.
