Candace Owens is drawing sharp criticism after a video clip surfaced in which she refers to Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro as a “maggot,” a “worm,” and a member of a “different species” that is “not human.”
The remarks, captured in a roughly 70-second video circulating on X, come amid an escalating public feud between Owens and Shapiro that has intensified in recent months following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
Owens has repeatedly framed Shapiro as exploiting Kirk’s legacy for personal or organizational gain at Turning Point USA (TPUSA), using phrases such as “maggot rotting on a corpse” in earlier statements.
Ian Miles Cheong, a prominent conservative voice on X, amplified the clip in a post that quickly garnered tens of thousands of views. Cheong described Owens’ language as “full Neo-Nazi” and accused her of attempting to create a “mental justification” for potential violence against Shapiro by one of her supporters.
On one hand, Owens employs the 'Khazar' narrative to dodge accusations of antisemitism; on the other, she strategically substitutes 'Zionists' for 'Jews.' However, these semantic maneuvers fail to obscure her genuine stance regarding the Jewish people.
