The Israel-Gaza war refers to the ongoing armed conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip. The United States has been involved in efforts to broker a ceasefire and hostage deal, while also taking military action against Iranian-backed groups in Yemen and elsewhere in the region.

As the conflict drags on, the international community has called for a peaceful resolution that addresses the underlying issues, including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the legitimate security concerns of both sides. However, achieving a lasting peace remains a daunting challenge, with deep mistrust and a history of failed negotiations hampering progress.
