Years after competitors introduced similar solutions, WhatsApp appears poised to address one of its users' most frequent requests. According to tech site WABetaInfo, the messaging giant has begun testing a new feature that allows users to schedule messages for future delivery.
The capability was spotted in beta version 2.26.40.7 for Android devices. Users can schedule a message to send anywhere from ten minutes ahead up to two weeks in the future.
Messages will send automatically at the chosen time, even if the app is closed or the device is offline when the scheduled moment arrives. The scheduled messages remain protected by end-to-end encryption.
