A new industry survey provides insight into how tourism professionals view international travelers from different nations across several behavioral categories. Online safari booking platform SafariBookings surveyed 192 tour operators who regularly interact with international guests to evaluate traveler habits regarding politeness, tipping, overall spending, adventurousness, and interest in food.

Tourism industry professionals frequently observe traveler behavior during stressful or unexpected situations. Hotel staff handle unusual requests, safari guides monitor guest reactions when wildlife sightings fall short, and transport drivers manage responses to itinerary delays. These direct interactions shape how operators perceive tourists from specific countries, catching travelers in moments when they may not be on their best behavior.

The survey converted operator feedback into weighted percentages to rank nationalities within each category. While the results reflect the perspectives of the participating safari operators rather than the complete population of any nation, they offer detailed patterns regarding regional travel styles. Israeli tourists were not included in the survey dataset.
