An explosive report reveals a U.K. physician is facing an official probe over her social media feed, which contains inflammatory anti-Jewish rhetoric and explicit praise for the October 7th attacks. A physician in the U.K.'s National Health Service is facing a disciplinary review that could result in her losing her medical license, following a series of social media posts in which she expressed support for Hamas and made antisemitic statements.

Dr. Rahmeh Aladwan, who identifies herself as a pro-Palestinian activist, announced last week that she had been referred to the Interim Orders Tribunal (IOT). The IOT is a body with the authority to suspend or restrict a doctor’s practice while a full investigation is underway. The review is part of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, the U.K.'s independent body for regulating physicians.

Aladwan claimed in a post on X that the referral was an act of retaliation orchestrated by the "Israel lobby" due to her public stance against what she called "the genocide in Gaza." She wrote that the move was "not the result of any professional failure" and was aimed at her for speaking out against the use of her "tax pounds" to fund military actions in Gaza.

Aladwan has drawn multiple complaints to the General Medical Council for her online activity. She has stated she has participated in over 300 pro-Palestinian protests over the past two years.

Her social media feed contains inflammatory rhetoric, including posts that openly support Hamas and the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel. In one recent post, she retweeted a message calling the massacre "an act of resistance." In late August, she wrote, "If and when Palestinians win – there will be no 'Israel.'"

She has also used phrases such as, "Am Yisrael lie. Soon…Am Yisrael bye. Then, Am Yisrael die. Finally, Am Yisrael cry, cry, cry." Dr. Aladwan has denied the existence of antisemitism, asserting that Jewish people are "oppressors and colonizers," and has claimed that most Jewish institutions are Zionist. She has also praised Hamas fighters, calling them "the bravest men on earth," and stated, "I don’t condemn Hamas. I don’t condemn October 7. I don’t condemn armed resistance to occupation."

While a referral to the IOT does not guarantee a physician will lose their license, the case highlights the growing tension between medical professionals' public statements and their regulatory obligations. The outcome will be a test of how the U.K.'s medical system confronts rhetoric that veers into explicit support for terrorism and antisemitism.
