Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva filed a formal complaint with local police on Tuesday following a serious case of impersonation and alleged fraud carried out in the medical institution's name. According to the complaint, unauthorized individuals posed as hospital medical staff, offered medical services to a patient abroad, and fraudulently collected payments from her.

The scheme came to light after the hospital received a direct inquiry that revealed external parties had been using the institution's identity and the names of actual medical personnel. These individuals contacted a patient staying overseas who required medical treatment, presented her with offers for advanced medical services, and collected money through deception.

A spokesperson for Beilinson Hospital stated: "This morning, Beilinson Hospital filed a complaint at the Petah Tikva police station regarding attempted fraud and impersonation. Following an inquiry received by the hospital, it became clear that external parties fraudulently used the hospital's name and the identities of staff members, while promising medical treatments, collecting payments, and deceiving a patient abroad who required medical services."

When hospital management discovered the fraud, theyimmediately contacted law enforcement authorities with the aim of apprehending the suspects and preventing further fraudulent activity. "We trust that the Israel Police will pursue the investigation thoroughly," the hospital spokesperson added.

Petah Tikva police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and are working to locate the suspects. This case joins a series of fraud and impersonation incidents that have been exposed in recent months, highlighting the importance of vigilance by both patients and medical institutions.

Beilinson Hospital is urging the public to be cautious of suspicious contacts claiming to represent the institution, and to verify the identity of anyone reaching out through official channels only. In cases of suspected fraud, the hospital recommends contacting the institution directly and notifying police.
