Israel's Prison Service carried out a large-scale operation this week targeting individuals linked to organized crime networks, conducting simultaneous actions both inside detention facilities and against suspects under electronic monitoring in the community. The coordinated effort included raids on prisoners in facilities in the central and northern districts, alongside enforcement operations against six electronically monitored individuals identified with criminal organizations.
The operation deployed forces from the elite Metzada unit, prison special response teams, the Nachshon prisoner transport unit, intelligence divisions, and incarceration combat personnel. At the same time, the Maoz unit, part of the Prison Service's alternatives to incarceration and supervision division, conducted targeted enforcement against the monitored suspects associated with crime elements.
