Border Police officers from the central district's settlement division intercepted a suspect Tuesday during routine patrols targeting agricultural theft near Yesodot, a community in the Nahal Sorek Regional Council. Officers spotted a suspicious vehicle parked at the edge of a farming trail in the agricultural areas surrounding the settlement. When they approached to investigate, they noticed an individual standing near the vehicle. Upon inspecting the car's trunk, officers discovered a large quantity of avocados suspected to have been stolen from nearby farms.
162 kg of Stolen Avocados Seized by Police
A suspect was arrested after Border Police discovered the agricultural produce in a vehicle's trunk during patrols aimed at preventing farm thefts in central Israel

A representative from Yesodot was called to the scene and confirmed that the avocados matched varieties grown in the settlement's agricultural fields. When the seized produce was weighed, it totaled approximately 162 kilograms of avocados. The suspect was taken into custody and transferred to the central district Border Police investigation unit for questioning. Both the vehicle and the confiscated agricultural produce were impounded as evidence.
