Anti-Semitic Hatred From Hollywood to London

Gal Gadot’s Star Vandalized in Hollywood as London Protesters Arrested on Film Set

Pro-Palestinian protesters in London were arrested for disrupting the filming of Gal Gadot’s new movie, targeting her due to her Israeli background. The incident, alongside the recent vandalism of her Hollywood Walk of Fame star, highlights ongoing tensions surrounding her public identity.

London’s Metropolitan Police arrested five pro-Palestinian protesters for harassment and violations of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act after they disrupted the filming of Gal Gadot’s new movie, The Runner, in central London, according to The Daily Mail. The demonstrators, some wearing keffiyehs, used pots, megaphones, and signs reading “Trash Gadot not welcome in London” and “Stop Starving Gaza” to interfere with the production, which stars Gadot as a lawyer racing across Britain to save her kidnapped son. Superintendent Neil Holyoak, who led the operation, stated, “We recognize the right to peaceful protest, but we are duty-bound to act when it becomes severely disruptive or criminal. We hope today’s operation sends a clear message that harassment or unlawful interference with legitimate professional work in London will not be tolerated.”

The arrests follow weeks of protests targeting the film’s locations across London, driven by Gadot’s Israeli nationality and public support for Israel. Two of the arrested were wanted for prior incidents, while three were detained for their actions that day. All remain in custody as police liaise with the production team, led by David Kosse of Rockwood Pictures, to assess the disruptions’ impact. Filming had paused over the weekend due to earlier protests but resumed this week.

This incident compounds ongoing hostility toward Gadot, whose Hollywood Walk of Fame star, awarded in March 2025, was recently vandalized with anti-Semitic graffiti, including “Baby Killer” and “Greenstein” (her maiden name), as reported on X by The Palestine News Network. The vandalism echoes protests at her star’s unveiling, where BDS activists labelled her an “IDF propagandist” for her military service. No official response has come from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and it’s unclear if an investigation is underway. The events reflect heightened tensions since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, with Gadot facing repeated targeting for her Israeli identity, as noted in The Jerusalem Post.
