US-Iran Talks Collapse as Tehran Braces for Surprise Attack
Iran strikes back at Trump's "done deal" claims, with the Foreign Ministry announcing no further talks are planned. As the ceasefire deadline nears, Tehran accuses the U.S. of violations and warns it won't be bullied by "ultimatums," sparking fears that the diplomatic track has completely derailed.

The diplomatic rift between Washington and Tehran widened this morning as Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei addressed the status of upcoming talks in Pakistan.
"As of now, there are no plans for another round of negotiations with the U.S.," Baghaei stated. His comments directly contradict President Trump’s announcement yesterday that an American delegation would arrive in Pakistan tomorrow to finalize what he described as a completed agreement.
Claims of Ceasefire Violations
Baghaei leveled sharp accusations against the U.S., claiming that the ongoing naval blockade has already rendered the ceasefire moot.
"The U.S. violated the ceasefire by imposing a naval blockade on Iran. The current tension in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of aggression by the U.S. and Israel," Baghaei said.
He further emphasized that Tehran would not be pressured by Washington’s timeline, stating: "Iran does not forget American strikes carried out during past negotiations. We do not recognize deadlines or ultimatums when it comes to securing our national interests."
Internal Skepticism and "Bombastic" Denials
The official pushback follows reports from the Tasnim News Agency, a mouthpiece for the IRGC, which cited senior officials dismissing Trump’s "bombastic" optimism. According to Iranian sources, fundamental disagreements remain unresolved regarding:
Fear of a "Surprise Attack"
Beyond the policy disputes, there is a deep-seated distrust within the Iranian regime. Some officials view Trump’s claims of a looming deal with extreme skepticism, fearing the rhetoric is a tactical smoke screen intended to mask a potential surprise military strike. Russia has also warned them, reportedly more than once, that the US and Israel are planning an imminent ground invasion and / attack on Iran. Other sources claim this may happen soon after Israel's Independence Day (Wednesday).
As of Monday morning, Iran continues to refuse a commitment to the Pakistan summit, citing "American stubbornness" as the primary obstacle to progress.
