"Today was my last day"

Singer quits job to keep Shabbos

Inbal Bibi, who has been sharing her journey toward observance, reveals she left her workplace because it required her to work on Shabbos

Israeli singer Inbal Bibi, 31, who has been documenting her journey toward religious observance in recent years, announced Sunday that she has resigned from her job in order to keep Shabbos.

During a question-and-answer session on her Instagram account, Bibi was asked whether she and her husband, Roi Kornblum, a former contestant on Israel's "Big Brother", observe Shabbos. Bibi chose to answer only for herself, sharing the news: "Today is my last day at work that required me to work on Shabbos. I actually resigned this month so I could keep Shabbos."

Raised in a secular home, Bibi has been gradually embracing faith and tradition. Recently, she moved her followers when she posted videos of herself wearing a head covering for the first time, writing: "First time leaving the house with a head covering."

Bibi and Kornblum were married this past August in an emotional ceremony at Ein Yael in Yerushalayim. Just two and a half months after their wedding, Bibi continues to take on new commitments and reshape her life around the observance that fills her soul.
