During the interview, Clinton addressed reports published in Haaretz claiming that United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ) called Netanyahu just ten days before the October 7, 2023 terror attack and warned him of a large-scale plot. While the Prime Minister has vigorously denied the report, sheoffered two harsh interpretations of his conduct during those critical moments.
"Either he didn't believe it, or — and this is terrible to say — he wanted to see what they could plan so he could respond forcefully and strengthen his position," she said. She characterized it as "a failure of leadership and of protecting Israeli citizens."
She went on to explicitly call for a change of government and demanded harsh measures against settler violence in Judea and Samaria. She warned that granting immunity to such violence permeates and contaminates all of Israeli society.
Clinton, who served as Secretary of State in the Obama administration, is still considered an influential figure in the American political arena. She previously ran for President of the United States and continues to voice her positions on major policy issues.
