Teen Saved from Severe Allergic Reaction in Uman

A 17-year-old boy narrowly escaped death on Friday after suffering a severe allergic reaction near the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov in Uman, Ukraine. United Hatzalah medical teams responded swiftly to save his life.

The incident occurred during the peak of the annual Rosh Hashanah gathering, when tens of thousands of Breslov Chassidim and visitors converge on the Ukrainian city to spend the holiday at Rabbi Nachman's gravesite.

David Ordman, a United Hatzalah medic who rushed to the scene, described the critical moments: "The young man developed an allergic reaction that threatened his life. I administered an epinephrine ampule and his condition stabilized. He was then evacuated to United Hatzalah's clinic in Uman for continued medical treatment."

The emergency joins a series of medical incidents handled by United Hatzalah forces in Uman in recent days. Several days ago, a healthy baby girl was born near Rabbi Nachman's tomb, with United Hatzalah medics Dana Weber and Shulamit Tzarfati delivering the infant on site.

Israeli police forces are operating in Uman as part of special preparations to assist the Israeli public arriving at the site. This week, officers located a missing 7-year-old boy who had become separated from his parents and safely returned him to his family after search operations.
