IRGC Navy claims tanker hit mine in Strait of Hormuz, third such incident in two days

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy says a crude oil tanker struck a naval mine in the southern Strait of Hormuz this afternoon, causing an explosion and fire in the engine room. The IRGC claims the vessel had disabled its navigation systems and traveled through an unauthorized route. According to the statement, this is the third tanker to hit mines in unauthorized routes since yesterday. The IRGC Navy warned that all ships turning off navigation and identification systems in the strait will be identified as hostile and dealt with "severely and decisively."
