U.S. Representative Joe Wilson, a member of President Trump's Republican Party, quickly issued a statement celebrating the development and forecasting the imminent downfall of the Houthi movement. "The Houthi empire of death and destruction is crumbling at the hands of the Yemeni people. Free Yemen!" Wilson wrote on social media. Meanwhile, Tariq Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen's government-in-exile, announced that the operation represents a coordinated assault designed to encircle the Houthis on all fronts. The Houthis have been designated as a terrorist organization by multiple countries and have launched numerous attacks on international shipping and neighboring states.
