Megyn Kelly, the no-nonsense former Fox News star turned independent podcaster, has conservatives scratching their heads, and hitting the unsubscribe button, after a striking shift on Islam in just four months.
Back in January (and as recently as her viewer Q&A episodes), Kelly was crystal clear and combative. In one widely shared clip, she declared: “You are not only entitled to fear Islam. I would argue it’s your duty as a Christian to stand up and fight against it. It is not consistent with the values of the West or America.”
She called political Islam incompatible with Western civilization and warned against Muslim leadership in the U.S.
Fast-forward to yesterday (May 5, 2026)
On her show discussing Tucker Carlson’s surging popularity (and his New York Times interview), Kelly sounded noticeably different. She highlighted how Tucker has picked up newer, younger viewers, including Muslims, by “standing up for Islam,” even as he lost some of his old pro-Israel Fox audience.
Kelly admitted she’s been “spoon-fed” certain narratives on Israel and is now “taking a much harder look.” While insisting she’s “not a big fan of Islam” and still has concerns, she openly questioned how much of the “very negative messaging” about Muslims comes from “ardently pro-Israel” voices. She even mentioned having dear Muslim friends.
