 Green Prince Declares War on 'Anarchy Flotilla' With Unprecedented Counter-Rally

Mosab Hassan Yousef, widely known as the "Green Prince" and the son of a senior Hamas co-founder, issued a powerful call for a mass civilian mobilization to counter the arrival of the international aid ships off the Gaza coast.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) published on Thursday, Yousef rallied Israelis to launch an unofficial "Choose Life" Flotilla from the Tel Aviv Marina on Friday, October 3rd, at 11:30 AM, immediately following the end of Yom Kippur.

Yousef explicitly framed the civilian action as an answer to the incoming vessels, which he fiercely labeled the "Anarchy Flotilla," and accused its organizers of deliberately timing their action to coincide with the Jewish High Holiday.

"They – the Anarchy Flotilla – chose Yom Kippur to break into our sea, thinking we’d be sunk in prayer, too weak to fight back," Yousef wrote. "But tomorrow we rise – fast ended, hearts full."

A Declaration of Defiance and Joy

The message eschewed the term "protest," styling the mobilization as a definitive "answer" and a vibrant declaration of Israeli resilience and unity. Key themes in Yousef's call included:

  • Choosing Life: The central message was drawn from the biblical verse in Deuteronomy 30:19: “Choose life.”
  • Hostage Solidarity: Yousef's post linked the action directly to the recovery of hostages, calling for the presence of "freed hostages dancing barefoot on deck – proof that the sea returned what hatred tried to swallow."
  • Mass Participation: The call urged participation by any means, stating that "Hundreds of yachts and ships are already signed up," and encouraging anyone with "a boat, a kayak, or anything that floats – come and join us."
  • Shoreline Presence: For non-seafarers, the instruction was to "claim the sand," spreading out along the entire Tel Aviv promenade to "Bring the noise of the people!" and celebrate.

Yousef concluded the post by emphasizing the broader symbolic goal:

"Let the world see us celebrate – not because the war is over, but because we refuse to let it rule even our next breath."

Context and Significance

Yousef’s direct appeal underscores his aggressive opposition to the Global Sumud Flotilla, which he and Israeli officials have condemned as a Hamas-linked propaganda effort designed to provoke an international incident.

The "Choose Life" rally served as a highly visible, grassroots civilian counter-narrative, mobilizing Israelis to demonstrate national unity and defiance just as the Israeli Navy was finalizing the interception of the foreign vessels off the Gaza coast.
