The war against Hezbollah has reached a critical turning point as the IDF reports massive losses for the terrorist organization, both in its leadership and its frontline fighters. Major General Rafi Milo, head of the Northern Command, revealed during a situational assessment in southern Lebanon that Israeli forces have killed over 750 Hezbollah terrorists so far. This announcement coincided with a high-profile "surgical" elimination of Hassan Muhammad Bashir, a senior commander in Hezbollah’s anti-tank missile array. Bashir was responsible for coordinating hundreds of attacks against Israeli civilians and troops, making his death a major blow to the group’s tactical capabilities.

Dismantling the Anti-Tank Threat

Hassan Muhammad Bashir was targeted and killed in a precision airstrike in the village of Hujair. As a senior leader in the anti-tank array, Bashir had spent the last several months training a new generation of terrorists north of the Litani River and overseeing the continuous fire directed at northern Israeli communities. His removal is part of a broader effort by the 146th Division and the 226th Brigade to clear the border region. In their specific sector alone, the 226th Brigade has conducted over 200 targeted strikes, destroying dozens of weapons warehouses and buildings used as operational hideouts for the group.

Major General Milo emphasized that the ground activity has moved "one step forward" to expand the security perimeter. "We are acting according to an orderly plan to hit and push the enemy back, creating a better defense for the residents of the north," Milo stated. He added that the goal is to make Hezbollah "regret" ever starting the war. The IDF is reporting significant achievements in face-to-face combat, with ground troops successfully rooting out entrenched terror cells. By applying constant pressure and pushing the enemy further north, the military is systematically destroying the capabilities that Hezbollah spent decades building under the guidance of the Iranian regime.
