BLINDSIDED! Israel Takes Out Radwan Commander in Daring Ain Qana Strike
IDF confirms elimination of Hezbollah's Radwan Force commander Issa Ahmad Karbala in precision strike at Ain Qana, Lebanon, marking escalation despite ceasefire agreement.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed today the elimination of a field commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, in a targeted airstrike in Southern Lebanon. The operative, identified as Issa Ahmad Karbala, was reportedly a platoon commander within the elite unit and was targeted while on a motorcycle in the town of Ain Qana.
The strike is the latest in a series of operations carried out by the IDF against the Iranian-backed terrorist group, despite the November 2024 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, which ended months of intense fighting.
Targeting a ‘Violator of Understandings’
According to an IDF statement, Karbala was a key figure in moving weapons within Lebanon and was actively involved in advancing planned attacks against Israel. The military explicitly stated that Karbala’s activities "constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon," suggesting the strike was a response to intelligence concerning ongoing military preparations by Hezbollah.
The Lebanese Health Ministry also confirmed that one person was killed in the strike in the Nabatieh governorate, aligning with the IDF's announcement.
Focus on Radwan Command
The elimination of Karbala underscores Israel's continued strategic focus on degrading the command structure of the Radwan Force. The specialized unit is considered Hezbollah's premier offensive force, responsible for the group's most sensitive operations and intelligence gathering against Israel.
The strike comes as both sides continue a campaign of measured aggression that has been ongoing since the official ceasefire. The IDF has consistently targeted what it describes as a concerted effort by Hezbollah to rebuild military infrastructure and operational capabilities along the border, activities which Israel deems a breach of the ceasefire terms. The future stability of the border region remains fragile, with each targeted killing risking a significant escalation of hostilities.
