The Houthis made a major mistake

IDF confirms striking Yemen's Sana’a Airport in second strike against the Houthis in 24 Hours

The Israeli Air Force launched a second airstrike within 24 hours on Houthi terror targets in Yemen, destroying key infrastructure like Sana’a airport and a concrete factory to counter Iran-backed attacks on Israel. The operation highlights Israel’s commitment to neutralizing distant threats while targeting the Houthis’ misuse of civilian facilities.

IAF operating in Yemen strike background

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) conducted a precise airstrike targeting Houthi terror infrastructure in Yemen, marking its second operation in less than 24 hours. The strike, executed shortly before the announcement, destroyed facilities at Sana’a’s main airport, completely disabling it. This followed a Houthi attack on Ben Gurion Airport. Like the Hodeidah port, struck the previous night, Sana’a airport is used by the Houthi terror regime to transfer weapons and operatives, serving as a hub for ongoing terrorist activities. This exemplifies the Houthis’ exploitation of civilian infrastructure for terror operations.

The IAF also targeted several key power stations in the Sana’a region, which the Houthi regime uses to supply electricity for its terror operations, further demonstrating their misuse of Yemen’s civilian resources. Additionally, the Al-Amran concrete factory north of Sana’a was hit, a critical asset for the Houthis, used to construct military tunnels and infrastructure. Disrupting this facility strikes a blow to the Houthi regime’s economy and military buildup.

The operation, approved by the IAF Commander and IDF Chief of Staff, was conducted with precision, taking measures to minimize harm to civilians and civilian property where possible. The IDF emphasized that the Iran-backed Houthi regime has, for the past 18 months, acted under Iranian guidance and funding to attack Israel and its allies, destabilize the region, and disrupt global maritime freedom. The strikes reflect Israel’s resolve to counter threats to its citizens with force, regardless of distance.
