The Israel Defense Forces said it carried out a series of airstrikes overnight targeting Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure at multiple sites across Lebanon, striking a military training camp and additional military buildings used by the organization.

According to the IDF, the strikes hit a camp that served as a central training and operational facility for Hezbollah terrorists. The site was used for weapons training, live-fire exercises, artillery operations, and the storage of arms. The military said launchers and other terror infrastructure were destroyed in the attack.

The IDF said Hezbollah terrorists at the camp underwent weapons training and operational drills designed to prepare attacks against Israeli forces and Israeli civilians. The camp was described as a key node in Hezbollah’s efforts to maintain and rebuild its military capabilities.

In additional strikes carried out in other areas deep inside Lebanon, the IDF said it targeted Hezbollah military buildings where weapons were stored and from which terrorists have operated in recent months. The military did not provide casualty figures but said the focus of the operation was degrading infrastructure rather than targeting individuals.

The IDF said the presence and activity of Hezbollah infrastructure at the targeted sites constituted a violation of existing understandings between Israel and Lebanon. It described the facilities as an ongoing threat to Israel’s security, particularly in light of continued Hezbollah activity along the northern border.

“These sites were used by the Hezbollah terrorist organization for training, weapons storage, and operational planning,” the IDF said, adding that their continued existence undermines regional stability and directly endangers Israeli civilians.

Israel has repeatedly warned that it will not allow Hezbollah to reestablish or expand its military capabilities following months of cross-border attacks and heightened tensions. The IDF said it will continue to act as necessary to remove threats to Israel and to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its terror infrastructure.

Lebanese officials did not immediately comment on the strikes.
