Shocking Statements in Isfahan

The Isfahan Patronage: Jewish Community Leader Eulogizes Ali Khamenei as a Protective Figure and Sanctuary

The leader of the Jewish community in Isfahan, Hacham Soleiman Sedigh Poor, has released a remarkably warm statement to Iranian state media, eulogizing the recently assassinated Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as a sanctuary and source of security for local Jews.

Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei

Massive public mourning events across Iran and Iraq have entered their second consecutive week following the targeted elimination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei by Israel this past February, leaving the country deeply immersed in sprawling farewell rituals and massive funeral processions. Amid this overarching atmosphere of national grief, highly unexpected voices have emerged from the local Iranian Jewish community, which has chosen to publicly express profound sorrow over the demise of the Iranian ruler.

Hacham Soleiman Sedigh Poor, the head of the Jewish community in Isfahan and the chief rabbi of the Keter David Synagogue, published an official declaration across the state media networks of the Islamic Republic. In a detailed conversation with the Iranian Students' News Agency, ISNA, the community leader showered praise and warm sentiments on the character of the late Khamenei. The rabbi described Khamenei as a paternal, humble, and simple figure who consistently made sure to shield the local Jewish minority during his decades in power.

According to Sedigh Poor, the Supreme Leader consistently maintained a strict and absolute boundary between the local Jewish community as a religious group and the Zionist political movement. "The simplicity and humility of the leader made him beloved by all strata of the population", Sedigh Poor remarked during the official media interview. He further noted that for members of the Jewish community in Iran, Khamenei represented a figure who instilled a constant sense of safety and genuine belonging to the broader nation.

The religious leader explained that the official domestic policies managed under Khamenei's direction allowed them to lead peaceful and tranquil community lives in the heart of Isfahan and other major urban centers. "He always emphasized the separation between Judaism as a religion and Zionism as a political movement. This approach allowed Jews to live in Iran in peace and security and to feel like an integral part of the Iranian nation", the Keter David Synagogue rabbi explained to local interviewers.

The rabbi emphasized in his statements that despite Khamenei's supreme political and religious standing, he never acted with condescension toward his citizens and always attempted to forge a direct connection with the most ordinary people in society. "He understood the pains of society and the concerns of the underprivileged. Anyone who met with him, no matter what religion they were from, always felt respected", Sedigh Poor shared with emotion.

When the community leader was questioned about the massive funeral processions and prolonged public mourning rituals stretching across Iran and Iraq, he noted that this serves as definitive proof of the deep bond the leader shared with his people. "What we are seeing now is a rare display of solidarity. People of all types, from all religions and of all opinions came to pay him their final respects. This shows how meaningful he was to them", the leader of the Isfahan Jewish community concluded.
