Jerusalem police have opened an investigation after an unidentified man placed a stillborn fetus at the entrance to Shaare Zedek Medical Center and fled before hospital staff or security personnel could stop him.
Officers from the Jerusalem District were called to the scene after passersby reported the discovery. Police began collecting testimony from hospital staff, security guards and witnesses who were near the entrance at the time.
Investigators are also gathering forensic evidence and reviewing security camera footage from the hospital grounds and surrounding access routes in an effort to trace the man’s escape route and establish his identity.
Police said they are pursuing all lines of investigation as they try to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
